Augustine Doe L’03

Written by: Molly Osinoff

Augustine Doe embodies resilience, determination, and exceptional achievement. Raised in Accra, Ghana, Augustine relocated to the United States after political unrest led to the closure of Ghanaian universities. Undeterred, he seized the opportunity to pursue his education abroad.

He enrolled at Harvard University, where he took on the rigorous challenge of completing both undergraduate and graduate courses simultaneously. One of the greatest hurdles Augustine faced was adapting to technology he had not encountered back home. Determined to succeed, he took typing and Excel courses at a local high school—while managing his demanding Harvard course load. He went on to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics.

After graduation, Augustine worked at a Washington, D.C. think tank, where he was regularly tasked with reviewing and summarizing legal materials. He quickly became the go-to resource for legal analysis, prompting a partner to ask if he had ever considered law school. That conversation led to the LSAT—and ultimately to Syracuse University College of Law.

At Syracuse, Augustine pursued a dual degree, earning both a J.D. from the College of Law and an MBA from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. Balancing the two programs was challenging, but Augustine thrived. He fondly recalls his time in Constitutional Law with Professor Lewin, the Technology Law Center with Professor Hagelin, and courses in corporate and property law. As an editorial member of the Syracuse Law Review, he spent countless hours refining his note, polishing grammar, and perfecting citations—experiences he remembers with pride.

Augustine is a passionate advocate for law students pursuing careers in risk management. He believes that law school offers an essential foundation for understanding the key risks organizations face. He encourages students to prioritize courses in employment, property, and corporate law, as these disciplines form the core of effective enterprise risk oversight. In his view, corporate risk management is fundamentally about closing the gap between strategic ambition and execution—ensuring that organizations can deliver on their goals despite disruption. “In the real world,” he explains, “there will always be earthquakes and supply chain disruptions—but if an organization sets a performance target, it must still execute, no matter the obstacles. Success demands resilience and readiness, even in the face of crisis.”

Today, Augustine is the Founder & CEO of Doegode, an AI-native SaaS platform pioneering Strategic Execution Risk Management (SERM). With over 21 years of experience advising Fortune 500 and global enterprises—including Google, Workday, Mattel, Toyota Financial Services, Wayne-Sanderson Farms, Yelp, Aviation Capital Group, Adtalem Global Education, and many others—he brings deep expertise in aligning enterprise risk with strategy to improve execution, performance, and resilience.

Before founding Doegode, Augustine led the Strategic ERM Practice at RGP (NASDAQ: RGP) and served as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Legal Officer in the healthcare sector. Today, he leads Doegode across product, growth, capital strategy, and governance, positioning the company as a category-defining solution to the $1T+ strategy-execution gap facing modern enterprises.

He is also a recognized thought leader contributing to RIMS® and The Institutes®, shaping industry best practices in risk-enabled performance.

Among his many accomplishments, three stand out as particularly meaningful. First, Lloyd’s of London —one of the most respected names in insurance—invited Augustine to join a global conference of top risk managers, where he made significant contributions to industry dialogue. Second, he was invited to attend a corporate risk management program at Harvard Business School. Midway through the program, he was honored with an invitation to co-teach, earning a standing ovation from an audience that included executives from some of the world’s top firms. Third, Augustine was recognized by the board of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota after designing and implementing a bespoke risk program for the organization.

Through it all, Augustine remains deeply grateful for his time at Syracuse. He describes the experience as “the best of [his] whole life.” A model of perseverance and success, Augustine Doe continues to push boundaries and inspire others across industries and continents.
